LUNCH AT CLUB HEATHCOTE

Club Heathcote has a contracting operator of the Bistro who opens the Bistro, especially to make lunch available for Probus members following their General Meetings.

We usually have some 20 members enjoying lunch, however, there were only 6 remaining after our last meeting.

The Bistro contractors would appreciate some prior knowledge of the approximate number of patrons to expect for obvious reasons.

I will ask Carolyn to send out an e-mail message a few days before each meeting requesting those intending to remain for lunch to respond to me with an e-mail or text message.  I will then be able to advise the Bistro operators.

I request your cooperation in this matter so that we can minimise operating costs and maintain a good working relationship with Club Heathcote.

Thanking you.

John Wood

President

SPECIAL EVENTS

Thursday 16th December 2021 –LuncheonClub Engadine RSL at 12noon (booking has been confirmed and a $200 deposit has been paid.

No discussion with either Club Engadine or Mikes Grill has occurred due to the uncertainty with covid lockdown. Without knowing when Clubs will commence operation and what restrictions apply after they open – e.g., only vaccinated members can attend and impact if 1 person per 2 or 4 square metre rules applies. Based on questions asked during the planning of the cancelled 30 Anniversary function, if the 1 person per 4 square metre rule applies then the room will be restricted to 60 members.

No entertainment has been organised and with the uncertainty I suspect if the lunch goes ahead, we will have background music piped through the Club’s speaker system.

It is hoped that sometime during October the Government issues guidelines to Clubs on how they will operate.

The Committee discussed at its meeting last week at what point do we seek expressions of interest from Members wishing to attend the luncheon, and it was agreed to leave it to the October Committee Meeting when the Committee will receive an update following an attempt to speak with Club Engadine RSL and Mikes Grill representatives.
