Things to take:-   your Medication very important
lot of you may still have your medical forms from our last holiday, if so they are still good as long as they are up to date with the medications you are taking, the name of your Dr and emergency contacts. Place the form in a sealed envelope. I will collect once we are on the bus. They will be returned to you after the holiday. They are only opened in an emergency.

Fancy Dress:  This will be held on our last night in Montville, the theme this year is “M” that shouldn’t be too hard. Not compulsory, if you don’t want to dress up you don’t have to.

Expenses:  The only time we will have to dip into our pocket is for morning tea on the way up the M1 at the Service Centre as there is nowhere for the driver to stop and organise our cuppa.

October 2016  2016 is almost over and we had our last luncheon outing to Wollongong City Diggers where 30 of us enjoyed a very nice lunch. The only down side was 20 members did not come and all but a few didn’t let me know. This is a worry when we are catching trains as we would like to know we have everybody.
Our last outing for the year is to the Hunter Valley Lights, staying at the Mecure Resort. 2017 ... We will give you more information on outings and Annual Holiday in the   New Year

Day 1.  We headed north up the M1 to the Hunter Valley, morning tea at the service centre, from there we headed to our lunch venue, The Hunter Beer Co. - Potters Hotel Brewery Resort. The food was out of this world, the corned silverside earned the Chef a few cuddles and kisses. From lunch we headed to the Hunter Valley Chocolate Factory where we were forced to get chocolate of many kinds. We then headed straight to the Mecure Resort to check out our rooms. The rooms were great, bathrooms were a challenge for some of us oldies but we got the hang of it all and settled in.
We were five mins from the McGuiggans Winery and 5 mins from the village bottle shop which had very generous wine tastings, purchased a bottle or two and headed 5 mins back to our rooms, where we called in the neighbours onto our back patios and had a good chat and a glass or two, great.
Early dinner and off to the Hunter Valley Lights 7:30, SPECTACULAR is about all I can say for the lights, it did rain but we just kept going. Definitely a bucket list addition.
Day 2.  We headed to Port Stephens to see the Dolphins. We had a beautiful cruise on the Moonshadow. The Dolphins turned up on cue. We had a very tasty lunch and headed off for a little retail therapy after which we headed back to the Mecure for more wine tasting and chatting.
Day 3.  Off to the gardens again for a look in the daylight where we were taken around the gardens in a small train type vehicle. The roses were magnificent along with the shaped trees, Italian & Japanese Gardens, BEAUTIFUL. After completing the walkabout we gradually headed back to the Teahouse where we had an hour or so to chat and have lunch before the trip home.
