June

Our lunch at St George Motor Boat Club was a great success with 45 of us enjoying a lovely sunny

day on the water, not to mention the food.

Sadly there was a down side, we had 10 people that did not show up or phone. I feel some of this was due to people writing down names of friends. If you are not at the meeting please feel free to give me a call and I will add you to the list.

From now on, please only write your own name on the list.

August

Everyone enjoyed the outing to Doyles Restaurant on 5th August, beautiful day and great food.

  • Tuesday 22nd October - Leura Gardens Spring Festival. Each October many of Leura’s residents open their gates and their stunning private gardens to the public for inspection. These gardens are immaculately kept (many are award winners) and a great place to have a relaxing and scenic stroll in the fresh Spring air. Our tour will take in three of Leura’s best gardens

We will depart Anzac Oval at 8.am and make our way to Leura via the GreatWestern Highway, stopping for morning tea along the way. Our first inspection is the Everglades Historic House and Gardens. We will have lunch here (main, tea or coffee). After lunch we will visit the Waldorf Leura Resort Gardens. Set amidst 4 ½ acres of landscape gardens and overlooking the 4th fairway of Leura Golf Course. We will be taken on a guided tour of these gardens.

Then we move onto the beautiful Glenhaven Garden which can be recognized for its giant whale made out of a bush on the corner of the road where the house is located. It is a private house with a garden absolutely overflowing with flowers. Walking the narrow pathways in the midst of the flowers is such a delight!

We will depart The Blue Mountains to arrive home around 6.00 pm.

Cost will be $64pp if 40+persons - $68pp if 35-39persons

Includes: Luxury Coach - morning tea - Lunch - Garden Entrance Fees

NOTE: We have filled the bus but I believe there is a bigger bus so I will make enquiries. Just give me a ring and I will add you to the list and will try and work something out so we can all go.
